Tarah and Issac’s modern intimate wedding absolutely stole our hearts! If you’re anything like us, you definitely had at least one moment in wedding planning season where you thought, “Wouldn’t it be absolutely amazing if we only invited a handful of our very favorite people and only included things near and dear to our hearts?!” That’s exactly what Tarah and Issac chose for their wedding day and we were blown away!! (In the very best way)
Obviously we’re still obsessing over Tarah and Issac’s chic wedding details! Vintage-inspired gold wedding bands and watercolor invites from Shutterfly gave us some seriously weak knees! How incredible is their stationery suite?!
Rachel and I (Alyssa) joined Tarah in her “zen zone” AKA her bridal suite, as she enjoyed the quiet time with her sister before the day started. Tarah is the epitome of the zen bride! She was joyful, relaxed and loved every moment. We all felt in sync leaving her hotel to start her and Issac’s gorgeous wedding day!
Issac’s ring is actually modeled after a family heirloom! Grandpa must have been a cool dude, don’t you think?
Although Issac had THE best “smolder” look during their engagement session, I have to say Tarah was workin’ that smize too!! What a total bridal beauty!
One thing that makes our Cotton brides unique is the positivity and love the bring to everyone around them! Their radiant joy is absolutely contagious! Absolutely loved that Tarah spent the morning getting ready with her sister. It was so very Tarah; they had time to laugh and be silly together. Whether your day includes 13 bridesmaids or only one; honoring what you love in every part of your wedding day is so special.
Our favorite part! The moment when Tarah and Issac saw each other for the first time was perfect. They were able to share a relaxed moment before friends and family arrived and well, that’s everything! The way Issac looked at Tarah for the first time took our breath away. He could not wait to be her husband!
One huge benefit to having a first look is not only the quiet moment you share with your future hubby, but also the added portrait time in beautiful light (for example, a late winter wedding)! If you’re nervous there won’t be enough time for relaxed portraits and you value lots of romantic pictures with your hubby, a first look may be for you!
Our brides who choose a first look love the little stolen moment, and the ease of having less “to do” after their I do’s. We always recommend you follow your heart when it comes to a first look. If you’re on the fence, check out our post on 5 reasons not to do a first look to see what is right for your day!
One of Tarah’s absolute must-have portraits was a one that really showed off her bouquet! We can see why, this loose, modern bouquet from The Tallest Tulip is total eye candy!
How lovely is the chapel and gardens of St. Helen’s Catholic Church in Pearland? Before the ceremony, we had a moment to chat with the wedding coordinator to make sure we are respectful of the ceremony! After all, your marriage and union before God is the real gift of the day!
The moment coming back up the aisle is one of our favorites! That giddy just-married moment is the best!!
A quick change into her lovely lace reception gown from David’s bridal and Tarah was party ready! Her bridal hair piece and pearl clutch are next level. Tarah we love your chic style! Teach us your ways!!
A modern intimate wedding with your closest friends and family means lots of extra portrait time!! We snuck out onto the patio for some glowing sunset portraits with Tarah’s besties and their dapper gentlemen.
A couple quick spins and we headed back into their private dining room for a beautiful meal surrounded by loved ones.
Tarah and Issac chose the perfect mellow live music for their reception. Cul-De-Sac band provided a romantic and whimsical ambiance.
As a mom, Rachel loves catching sweet moments with the littlest guests. Quinn was an absolute gem who would pose for any and every picture! As long as you showed her how cute she looked on the camera after! (A bargain we are always happy to make!)
Call it the love in the room or maybe Killen’s incredible gourmet Mac n’ Cheese, but everyone was full of laughter and joy for Tarah and Issac! Together they opted not to include the typical reception activities with bouquet and garter tosses and dancing. For Tarah and Issac a delicious meal, elegant cocktails and great conversation were priority number one!
Tarah and Issac chose a strawberry groom’s cake and Italian cream cake straight out of Pinterest from Whisk Bakery! One of our all time favorite bakers!
We joked that Tarah and Issac should write the guide for “How to Have the Perfect Modern Intimate Wedding”, but seriously these two nailed it!!
Tarah & Issac, your day was thoughtful, elegant and timeless. Just like your love story. All of us wish you so much happiness on your journey from newlyweds to old married couple! If you ever need us for the world’s most zen vow renewal, we’re there in a heart beat!!
