After this sweet couple’s original venue was flooded, Allison and Brady’s plan B resulted in a stunning River Oaks Country Club wedding! The elegant, vintage style of their wedding fit this classy and fun couple perfectly! Although the forecast was rain, you’d never know it from the photos. The sun was out all day, creating the perfect October wedding for these two high school sweethearts.

I wanted to do something different and unique for my wedding dress. I chose a sheath fit with a beautiful lace fabric to go along with the elegant theme and a bit of sheer in some areas to make it youthful and fun.

We actually were supposed to have the hotel room block and reception at the Omni Houston Hotel but unfortunately it flooded after Hurricane Harvey. We fell in love with the hotel, the ballroom and Black Swan night club when we visited and were so sad we couldn’t have it there. Luckily the River Oaks Country Club had an opening on the same exact date so we were able to move it there after a few days of searching through various venues! It actually ended up fitting even better with the vintage/elegant look I was going for with the gorgeous chandeliers, wood floors and windows overlooking the club grounds.

My Vendor Team

I found ROCC and most of my vendors through my awesome wedding coordinator Ashley Appling from Keely Thorne Events. Without her I might have given up on looking for a new venue! She was so helpful and patient with me and I am so lucky I ended up with her! She gave awesome recommendations for every vendor. Each was not only within my budget but matched the exact look I was going for! I found my amazing photographers through my best friend Shelby as they were there for her on her wedding day too!

My florist (Bramble & Bee) I found when I went to a good friend’s wedding a couple years ago. I fell in love with the colors, style and floral arrangements and knew I had to use them! We both went to A&M and love maroon so we decided to incorporate similar colors into our flowers. I absolutely love a neutral wedding so the neutrals combined with a dark wine/plum was perfect for the look I was going for in a fall wedding.

 

Allison teared up while reading Brady’s thoughtful letter to her. (The letters get us every time!) I’m sure she’ll treasure his sweet words just as much as the gorgeous pearl necklace that came with them!

Allison, you are one classy bride! This floor-length lace robe could not have been more perfect for you.

 

Brady: My most memorable moment was definitely the first look, and then seeing her walk down the aisle!

 

It’s a photographer’s dream to have an incredible couple surrounded by such sweet friends! We knew all but one of the bridesmaids from Shelby’s wedding back in May. It was a blast getting to spend more time with these bombshells!

Advice to couples about to tie the knot | From the bride and groom

Take marriage counseling before if your church offers it. It was a great way to get us to open up about things we have never discussed before.

3 Tips for Future Brides

 – Get a personal driver to take you and the groom from the church to the venue! It was so nice for us to have some time to relax after the chaos.

 – Do a first look, it helped so much with time!!

–  Have a private meal together while everyone else is in the cocktail hour. You will appreciate this downtime with each other and time to actually enjoy the food!

Allison & her dad shortly broke out of their classic father-daughter dance into a macarana/Gangnam style/Beyonce mashup! Everyone LOVED their hilarious choreographed dance moves!

I don’t think their could have been a better venue for this wedding! Everything turned out exactly how it was supposed to! : )

“What I loved most about our wedding was everyone dancing and having such a good time! The band (Blind Date Austin) was literally the best we could have hoped for and got everyone on the dance floor! We loved the variety of music they played!”

There are no words for how much we adore both of these sweet couples!!! We are so grateful to have photographed both Shelby and Courtlan, and Allison and Brady’s incredible weddings!

Brady played rockstar for the night as he sang Blink 182 to his bride!

Allison: My most memorable moment was the private last dance we had to one of our favorite songs – All I Need by Radiohead and of course when Brady got up on the stage to sing Blink 182!

This might be the sweetest last dance we’ve ever seen, y’all! Music is definitely one of their love languages!
