When I first met Kellan (my fiance), I also had the pleasure of meeting his best friend, Jose! And when we first start dating, I kind of knew I was coming between a serious bromance! : ) Thankfully it was only a few short months until Jose met the love of his life, Helena! They went on their first date in August of 2012 right before Jose left for Harvard Business School. They dated long distance for about 3 months before Jose popped the question over Thanksgiving break! At this point, some of Jose’s friends didn’t even know he was dating anyone so to hear he was engaged was wild!! But a few weeks later, we both got to meet Helena and instantly fell in love with her! It was so easy to see why he wanted to take her off the market so quickly! ; ) So on top of the fact that they are two of our best friends, they also asked me to photograph their wedding and what an insane honor that is! So here are a *few* (hahah aka a ton!) of my favorites from their perfect wedding!!
All the guys were about as chummy as you can get with each other! It was pretty adorable! : )… I warned you, didn’t I? : ) But hey, there’s nothing wrong with a little pre-wedding cuddling, right?
In our hotel rooms, they had these adorable welcome bags for us full of amazing little things like sunscreen, bug spray, a little fan, and homemade peanut brittle! It was such a treat!
Seriously, Helena is like this adorable little doll! I just love her! I mean come on, no one looks this cute curling their eye lashes! : ) Helena made almost everything for the wedding, like these bags for the girls! Oh and if you are wondering why there is a guy in this photo, well that’s her best friend & bridesman, JoJo. : )Helena loved that her dress had pockets!! I hope I can find a dress with pockets too! That would be amazing! Their first look was so sweet! : ) I might have cried! For some reason, these next two photos are so Jose to me! I just had to include them! : )
How cute are these two?! Stopping to smell the flowers! : )
All the girls had such gorgeous braided up do’s!
Because if you can’t take a selfie on your wedding, when can you? ; )Helena did such a fabulous job with all of the details! Seriously, it was insanely gorgeous! I have to mention that this was not Helena & Jose’s first wedding venue. They had originally planned on a different place but the management was giving them so much trouble that they had to find a new venue only a few weeks before the wedding! Talk about chaos! Thankfully they had a super amazing wedding planner who recommended this gorgeous venue, Blue Rock Estates. I mean who doesn’t want a pool at their wedding!!?! : ) Plus the property managers are about as helpful and nice as they come! Helena drew all of the signs herself! How she got her handwriting to look like a font, I will never know! ; )The light for her ceremony was PERFECT! A photographer’s dream!
Ladies, are you drooling over the details yet because I am! I told Helena after her wedding that she really set the bar high! I feel like I have my work cut out for me for my wedding!! Haha!
They made little raspberry jalapeno jams as favors! I think the adults liked the activity table just as much as the kids did! Dinner at sunset? Yes please! : )So this is Jose’s best man, John, and Helena’s maid of honor, Steph. John & Steph are married and they are actually the reason that Helena & Jose met so their speeches were really special! Helena, you are so gorgeous!
Nice photo bomb, Luke! Oh did I mention, Kellan was a groomsmen so he got to kick back and enjoy the wedding this time! : )How dreamy does this cake look?!?!?! Also, fun fact about Helena: She is an INCREDIBLY talented baker! She is doing the cake for our wedding actually! : ) A pool and fireflies… what more do you need? : ) I hadn’t actually seen real fireflies before this wedding but they were everywhere in the bushes! It was so fun! : )
Helena & Jose, I adore you guys and I couldn’t be any happier for you!!!! Love you!
