From the moment we spoke to these two lovebirds on the phone, Rachel and I knew this would be one of our favorite weddings of the year! As a former event coordinator in San Antonio, Elizabeth has a keen eye for details and impeccable taste. We just knew her day would be incredible and most certainly were not disappointed! After a beautiful Saint Anne Catholic ceremony, it was all stunning details (and a serious dance party) at their JW Marriott Houston wedding reception.
Every bit of her and Peter’s wedding day was as heartfelt as it was glamorous. More than their great style, we absolutely love these two for how head over heels, madly in love they are. They have an incredibly powerful chemistry and we simply cannot wait to hear all the fun and fabulous things they do together throughout their marriage.
“Immediately when we got engaged, there were a few vendors that I knew I had to have. Wolf Weddings and I had worked together on several events in San Antonio for years. They are the very best in florals and very good friends of mine. They are also very talented planners and make every bride totally relaxed.
The next vendor booked was my DJ. I saw Michael Graham of Signature Eventx perform at one of my close friend’s weddings and knew then that he was going to MC at my wedding one day.
The dress: I knew I wanted from Kleinfeld Bridal in New York. I only tried on two dresses and mine was the second one I tried on thanks to my consultant, Dianne. I loved my classic (Grace Kelly inspired) Pnina Tornai dress.
The Venue: We actually had an outdoor park booked but it closed five months before our wedding! We were bummed, but it worked out because the JW Marriott Houston was still available! I never wanted a hotel wedding since I worked in hotels for years. Of course, I didn’t want to feel like I was going to work or be overly critical of my event. My mom said trust me… this isn’t a normal hotel. I went on a site visit and said, “book it!” Gorgeous wooden flooring, boutique feel, artistic style; I totally fell in love.
The style of our wedding was Italian Rustic. We love Italy and wanted to bring a small Italian Tuscan Villa vibe to our wedding. Bringing in the vines and the beautiful natural flowers to make the inside feel cozy and elegant.”
Groom style! Personally, we love when a Groom owns his unique wedding day attire. Peter was giving us his best ‘blue steel’ in a custom suit from Balani. Plus, personalized cuff links and embroidery make for some standout shots of your stud! Watch out ladies, grooms are embracing wedding day style and we are loving every minute!
Peter’s favorite part of their wedding was seeing Elizabeth walk down the aisle. Through the glass of the doors at the church, he could see Elizabeth and her dad. When those doors finally opened and he saw her, he says that was the most special moment of his life! At the reception, he described Elizabeth and her dad’s walk down the aisle the longest walk of his life! Haha!
Elizabeth’s favorite part of their wedding was their offer to Mary during church. They had a married couple singing Ave Maria in a private moment they had just to themselves, thanking God for all of their blessings!
The moment coming back up the aisle as man and wife is pure magic! The look on Elizabeth and Peter’s faces says it all.
Between Peter’s royal blue suit and Elizabeth’s epic ballgown, they look like they belong on the set of Beauty & Beast!
This next moment was one of the sweetest I’ve ever witnessed between a bride and groom! Peter stopped me and said, “wait, there’s something I want to say … ” and then proceeded to get down on one knee. With so much adoration in his eyes, he told Elizabeth how much he loved her, how honored he was to be her husband and that this truly was the best day of his life! Cue the tears!
This was absolutely Peter’s most memorable memory from their wedding! Nothing like belting out Bohemian Rhapsody with all of your wedding guests! Galileo, Galileo!!
The most memorable part for Elizabeth was actually a surprise gift from Elizabeth’s parents! Instead of the more traditional send-off they had planned, they were surprised with a Second Line Parade! SO MUCH FUN!
“Cherish every moment! Some really great advice we got was to never leave each other’s side if you can help it. We were together all night and it was absolutely perfect.
Also, hire a wedding planner! They totally take the stress away from the wedding day since you have so many other things to think about. And most importantly, remember to just have fun!”
Elizabeth and Peter, it was an absolute honor and a total joy to witness and document your love! You most definitely are a White Buffalo couple!
XO,
Alyssa & Rachel
