Marissa & Ken’s incredible Great Gatsby wedding was one we won’t soon forget! Friends and family flew in from all over to watch this sweet couple tie the knot at the gorgeous Chateau Cocomar and it was the party of the century. : ) Get ready for the longest blog post ever because there were tons of beautiful details, a huge bridal party and so many sweet moments throughout the day that Michelle and I had a hard time keeping it together!
Marissa & Ken met in an elevator over eight years ago and you could tell just how ready and excited they were to marry each other! They’re incredibly stylish (remember their engagement session?), romantic and they totally adore each other. Since they’ve been dating for over eight years, they’re best friends too! After meeting them, it’s not surprising to see how much their family and friends love them. Marissa is so open and loving and Ken is just such a sweet soul. We were so honored to document their love!
Marissa’s grandmother wrote a sweet note to accompany the rosary that she’d carried since her wedding in 1959. We love meaningful family heirlooms like that!
Can you believe how incredibly stunning Marissa is?! She’s such a beautiful person inside and out, and made for one breathtaking bride that was just glowing with excitement!
Marissa wanted her dress to be a surprise to her bridal party so her bridesmaids came in one by one starting with her maids of honor and they were all in tears!!
All day long, Ken’s cute nephew kept telling everyone, “I know I look good!” He was hilarious! Future lady-killer! He wasn’t the only one though, we love a sharp dressed group of groomsmen! Can’t go wrong with the classic black and white tux.
Marissa had a sweet first look with her dad, who gave her a lucky penny to add to her bouquet.
Marissa and her bridesmaids watched as everyone started to pull up in limos and party buses! Everyone really got into the theme and showed up in their best feathers, sequins and fringe!
One of my favorite parts of the night was a song dedication to Marissa’s grandfather. They’re a close family and when Marissa and her cousins were young, they’d dance around the house to “Barbara Ann” by the Beach Boys, one of their grandfather’s favorite songs. Michelle and I definitely teared up as their family all danced together in celebration of their loved one!
Then it was time to dance the night away, and they did!
And finally, it was time for their grand finale! Their fairytale wedding went out with a bang (literally) when they surprised their guests with fireworks! It was definitely a party Jay Gatsby himself would have approved of! : )
Marissa & Ken, we hope you had the most incredible wedding day and know you have a beautiful life and marriage ahead of you! We were so honored to be a part of it!
xo,
Alyssa & Michelle
