Somehow I feel like I blinked and all of a sudden it’s almost December! Anyone else with me? I don’t know if it was Harvey or being pregnant, but fall & wedding season flew by. I can’t believe today is Thanksgiving, which means it was time for my pie crust recipe!

Thanksgiving Traditions

Growing up Thanksgiving was full of family, seeing my favorite cousins & all the butter that you could possibly squeeze into any & every recipe!

Every year we go around the table and share what we are most thankful for, as I’m sure most families do. This year, I’m definitely most grateful for our healthy, growing baby girl! Can you believe I’m 23 weeks already? She’s kicking away and constantly making me smile!

Each Thanksgiving, I try new pie recipes to attempt to find THE perfect ones. Kellan’s sweet family says they love the pies but I always find something I could have done better or want to try differently for the following year.

What My Silly Pie Crust Taught Me

To say that 2017 has brought a few right hooks our way would be an understatement. Aside from the blessing of our healthy growing girl (couldn’t be more thankful for her!), things have been a bit challenging.

Usually, I’m pretty optimistic and like to dive headfirst into unknown projects (i.e. house plans, work ventures, etc). After a few right hooks though, I’m finding it harder to get back up with the same enthusiasm.

I recently returned from the Pursuit Retreat, a Christian retreat for female creative entrepreneurs, and decided I have to reset myself! God doesn’t want me to live in fear.

He wants me to live boldly and be brave!

I want my daughter to know she can do anything she wants if she works hard enough so why am I not telling myself the same thing? {More on this topic coming soon!}

Well, the stars aligned this year and I feel like I finally did it! It’s the little victories, right? Not only did I find the perfect pumpkin pie & pecan pie recipes but I totally perfected my pie crust! As silly as this might seem, it felt like God truly had a hand in this. It was as if He was smiling down on me saying, “all those things you are afraid of, go and do them!”

If you are afraid of any big dreams or live in the “I’m not ___ enough” lie, please know God doesn’t want that for you! You are brave, worthy & most importantly, you are enough!
