Kellan and I went to Colorado back in April for a fun work trip with his awesome company, Thrivent. This was our first big trip away from our Kinsey girl so obviously, I cried when I left her! But we were so excited to have 5 days of quality time together without a toddler alarm clock in the morning.

I knew I was tired but I couldn’t quite figure out why I was sleeping so much. I slept a good 12 hours every night we were there but still felt tired! It wasn’t until we got home that I realized what was going on.

We are having Baby Number 2!

With a little surprise and a whole lot of excitement, we are thrilled to announce we are having another baby!

They say God won’t give you more than you can handle but I’m pretty sure He’s sitting up there laughing. He is certainly testing the limits with us right now. ; )

We are currently living with my mother-in-law while we build our house in Garden Oaks, all the while running two businesses and managing a tiny toddler. Adding another pregnancy to the mix before we even knew when our house would be done was a risky little game!

While this may not be the exact timing we had in mind for baby number 2, we are beyond grateful and praying for another sweet healthy baby.  I have to say this pregnancy has been way different and SO much harder than the first. And at this rate, it might be our last.

I can’t believe our little Kinsey girl is going to be a magical big sister! I feel like this is truly God’s plan for our family. His timing is so much greater than ours!

He knows how much Kinsey LOVES babies and is bringing her a sibling to play with!

Sugar Cookie Gender Reveal

Since we did an ice cream gender reveal with Kinsey, we thought we’d continue the dessert theme with a sugar cookie gender reveal. Plus, I’m basically a cookie monster while pregnant! Any excuse for cookies!

I love almond sugar cookies so I made two batches of little sugar cookie sandwiches filled with blue or pink icing.

I’m super impatient so we did the blood test to find out the gender at 11 weeks. I had a friend check the results and then tell my mother-in-law if it was a boy or girl.

She then brought out the plate with either the blue or pink icing filled sugar cookies for us to bite into! We could hardly wait!

Kinsey got her own baby heart-shaped cookie too!

You can hardly tell the color from the photo but I’ll give you a hint: It’s NOT blue!!!!!

That’s right! We are having ANOTHER girl!

We couldn’t be more thrilled! Everyone keeps asking if we wanted a boy. I actually thought it might be a boy since the pregnancies have felt so different. My cravings have been slightly different and I’ve been 10x more nauseous and sick with this one than with Kinsey.

Honestly, I hoped it was another girl so that Kinsey would have a sister. I love my sisters so much and couldn’t imagine a world without them. Plus, we have pink everything already! It just makes life easier.

Also, Kellan just had a feeling it was a girl and he’s always right! So I should have known it was a girl. LOL

Our little Elli dog was pretty happy about it too! Little girls tend to pull her tail a little less. ; )

Kellan is fiercely outnumbered at this point.

And just like that, the sweet pink balloons flew away! Whoops! Oh well. Special thanks to our Didi for keeping the secret and the pink balloons.

Also, thank you to Auntie Alyssa for taking these special photos of us! In true bestie fashion, she’s been there for every big moment of my life and I’m so beyond grateful for that! I couldn’t imagine anyone else being our Houston family photographer!

To our darling daughter on the way, Emery Caldwell, we can’t wait to meet you and see your sweet face! You are already so fiercely loved by all of us. Kinsey gives you kisses on my tummy every day! I know you will make our little family finally feel complete!
